Single-parent households and an increase in women in the workforce have both contributed to a significant increase in alternative care giving situations like day care or nursery school. Based on your understanding of attachment theory, how does this affect children? Now, discuss ethical and cultural strategies for promoting resilience, development, and wellness in early childhood.
As per my understanding ,attachment theory states thst a strong emotional and physical attachment to at least one primary care giver is crucial for the personality development of children. But increasing rate of Women employment in recent decades has created need for alternative care giving situations like day care centres and nursery schools.Day care has variety of measurable effects, many of them positive and some of them are negative. The quality and type of day care can influence many aspects of development including memory, language development, school readiness, math skills and reading abilities .However, less attached to their primary care givers(modtly Mothers) ,child's emotional bonding is low which leads them to be aggressive in nature and also they become disobedient. Many Researchers emphasized that to most of the children day care based care giving is neither sensitive nor responsive to their needs. Also, Center based Child care providers often lack the training as well as time to address the behaviour problems.
