4. Discuss the importance of follow-up assessments post-reaction.
Anaphylaxis is defined as a severe as well as a , life-threatening and , generalised or systemic hypersensitivity reactions that might occur in an individual,it can be occur in various reasons like medication, food insect stings and latex allergy .The management and the post assessment also varies depends upon the cause of the reaction and the type of hypersensitivity reactions.The first and foremost symtoms of anaphylaxis is skin itching accompanying with , flushing ,urticaria and then they will progress to breathing ,circulatory ,airway ,systemic shock and even death can occur in these individuals .
Post assessment is very crucial, keep the patient in observation for 12 to 14 hours from the time of reaction and after the last dose of adrenalin that has been administered to manage the reaction.
Blood samples to be taken within 1-2 hours but no later than 4 hours from the onset of symptoms. It is important to document the specific vital signs very frequently and manage if there is any change in the vitals if the individual.. The reason for allergy reaction should be kept under high alert and attached in the patient profile for future reoccurance and can also carry a card that indicates his allergy. Anaphylaxis usually occur due to blood products or medication and the lost reaction should be monitored as immediate management will help to avoid the complications and even the death of the patient
Antidote for the reaction if available can be administered if the post reaction is monitored and can save the life
Close monitoring very essential if the patient is is having chronic llnesses such as asthma or arrhythmias,any cardiac disease,
Explaining to the patient and the family members about the reaction that will occur and educating them about the specific reason and how to prevent the occurance in the future .medication should be continued til the course of Medication come to an end
Many COMPLICATIONS will occur late known as late complications so monitoring the reaction will also help to alleviate these
