In order to succeed in my practice of writing English in compositions, I dedicated considerable time in improving my vocabulary. Even on Social media, I have always chosen to type the full words instead of abbreviating it with social media acronyms because I believe; it is after the advent of social media that our written English and particularly the spellings or a rich vocabulary that has somewhere witnessed deterioration. I did not want to become a party to such an act that further impacts my writing skills in English. Hence, till date, I love to refer to the regular Oxford Dictionary, for my spell checks and learning new words that could add more gravity to my compositions. I further read a lot, especially the articles or columns on magazines or blogs that deal with my area of interests and hence the same goes into adding more meaningful contents to my compositions. In addition, I keep a Wren & Martin book handy for polishing my grammar skills as well.
However, vocabulary is an area that I would like to continue to work on because English language is rich and vast when it comes to learning new words and contexts of the same. It is rather my passion to keep learning newer words from the dictionary and try applying the same on my daily conversations.
