Describe how language, including reading and writing, has functioned in your life.
1) what are your first memories of leaning language? learning to read? learning to write? are these memories positive or negative?
2) how does your use of language change depending on the context you're in? ( School, work, friends, Family, etc)
I believe that language plays a very important role in your life and in order to express yourself you need the support of it. It also adds to your personality and charm as a person. A person having command over language and fluency in his speech has an additional advantage of being a leader. Good reading and writing skills can give you great career options and for me it has removed the hesitation and given me more confidence.
1) I have studied from a convent school where speaking English
was compulsory and I still have the memories when i first started
to speak English in the school. My teachers used to train me little
by little with words and then small sentences. I do not have any
bad memory though. i enjoyed learning to read and write. My teacher
and father was little strict when I pronounced a word wrong and
maybe through that only I have been able to improve so much. Though
earlier I wasn't good in speech so at times got scolding from
teachers and my friends laughed on me.
2) As I have grown and become a leader in my own field my language
has become more sophisticated and improved. There are certain words
which you stop using when you grow up. The constant learning of
vocabulary and knowledge of tenses has made my language better and
there are no hesitations. I host various functions, seminars and
workshops just because of this improvement. Even in my friend
circle I am being valued as compared to earlier due to my control
over my language.
