Writing process
Agreement between subject and verb is when a verb changes form depending on the subject. This usually happens when referring to persons or numbers. Agreement is also required between a pronoun and its antecedent. It is also called concord.
Controlling idea shows the direction the writer intends to take in an essay or a writeup or even in a paragraph. It is extremely helpful to the readers as it gives them an understanding of the essay's purpose and intention.
Descriptive writing includes details described in a way that it helps readers picture a scenario, thing, or person in their minds. For this style of writing, the writer needs to use the right words and mention sensory details to help the reader connect to the essay and picture the writing.
Features are prominent qualities or characteristics. Describing the features of a thing or person helps readers understand the writing better.
A paragraph contains a series of five or more sentences arranged in a way that they discuss a single topic. Paragraphs build an essay in an organized manner.
Reading-based writing approaches are used to communicate an idea or topic to the readers. The essay should be constructed in a way that the readers find it easy to understand.
Six traits of writing are Content or idea (primary topic), Organization (structure), Word choice (vocabulary), Voice (tone), Conventions (technical correctness), Sentence fluency (flow).
Subject of a sentence or essay is what's being described or talked about primarily. It's the person or thing or idea around which a story revolves.
Thesis is the central argument or proposition a writer puts forth and intends to prove. This can include a lot of research information.
Trait is a characteristic or feature of something or someone.
Verbs are used to describe an action (eat, drink, run), the state of being ( be), or an occurrence of something (happen).
