Social security is considered to be the most important financial support for elderly people . People in their retired life , get their source of income from private pensions, assets , etc.Notably the private pensions have helped a lot in providing benefit to the elderly people. Elderly people who do not have a higher pre- retirement saving , are unable to maintain their standard of living during their retirement days .

Health Care : According to a report , it has been found that an increase in the growth of elderly population has also resulted a change in the cause for death . Ranging from various type of infections to diseases like hypertension,high cholestrol , joint pain, dementia , cancer etc.

Diseases like heart attack , cancer , dementia , etc have been the chronic ones . It has left an impact on the aging population . According to a report made by WHO , an effort has been made in the advancement of the medicine . Medicine has considerably reduced the effects of diseases . this in turn will reduce the prevalence of disability .

Nowadays an organisation has been made , in order to care for the elderly people. It is known as the Support for Eldely people. The organisation will immediately call an ambulance for an elder person , in case of an emergency.  

Recreation : it heleps to enhace their quality of living . It helps them to explore around, which makes them feel good. It can be gardening, listening to music , health and fitness. Going for a morning/evening walk freshens their mind , and this would help them in refreshing themselves . They get to socialise with people, and talk on various issues. This gives them a positive outlook towards life .

Housing / Living arrangements : In USA , some elderly people prefers to stay in social housing . Social housing provides them a quality of life. It is generally rental housing, where they will be provided all the benfits with care . They are provided with every basic needs they want . Eg : Old Age homes.

Occupation : Genrally , they lead a retired life . Apart from it , if they are interested to do something they can be a consultant by profession.

Political Activity : The participation of older adults increases with due time . They get more involved into it. As they have spare time , there is a tendency that they incline more towards it.

Relationship : During this point of time , they both clinge to each other (HUSBAND AND WIFE) . It is the most crucial time when they both need each other the most. Most of the cases , it is seen that the aging population have a highee chance of developing depression . It is so because of the loneliness they face . Eg : Parents having a child , who resides in a foreign country and apart from them . The child does not stay with them . Hence , the rest of their life is spent in loneliness.

Effects on society :

The person attaining the retirement age / retired life finds their life to be boring as they are not engaged in any kinds of activity.

Some of them try to engage themselves , like working in a ngo, or associating with a cultural club .

Financial effects, take a crucial point where they start to manage the money they have saved their entire life .

When I become older , I would like to indulge myself in cultural/religious activities. I would like to help needy people.  

Travelling places , which would help me to know myself more better ,. This would also help me to socialise with people and mix with them.
