Socialization s defined as the process of internalizing the norms and ideologies of the society you are in.that is how your moral compass, cognition and decision making are driven by the norms and ideologies of the society that you live in . for example a perso living in korea would see tatoo as a taboo because the society thinks so . the socializaation process is very important in the process of development . its a the guiding compass of a childs superego or what he beleives to be the moral corrctness.

Now Socialization and gender have a very direct relationship.Gender is a social construct . Though thereare physiological diffrences the most common attributes we identify each gender with are mostly sociological. here socializationa affects gender as it dfines what gender is to that particular people , that is that what they ought to do as gils or bioys and what is acceptable.

The Psychoanalytic perspective has 2 major theorists Freud and Erikson. Freud is known for his Psychoseual stages of development while Erikson is known fr PSychosocial development theory.\

In freuds theory he explained that there are 5 stages of developmetn where the pleasure centers shift from a specefic body part to another body part and and in each stage there needs to be enough pleasure not more not less.these stages are oral ,anal ,phallic, latency and genital.major criticisms tohis theory were that the caes he based them on were of sexually repressed victorian adults.

Erikson emphasise that in addition tomediating between id impulses and superego, demands the ego makes a positive contribution to development, accuiring attiudes AND SKILLS THE MAKE THE INDIVIDUAL ACTIVE CONTRIBUTING MEMNBER OF SOCIETY. major criticisms were that his theories were to vague to be tested.
