Most Americans spend at least one year below the poverty line in the age group of 25 to 75 .Poverty rates are higher in rural & inner city parts of the country as compared to suburban areas
A UNICEF report stated that US has the second higest relative child poverty , accordingly the teen agers in low income communities often join gangs , save school lunches , sell drugs, or exchange sexual favors as they cannot afford food.
In adrive to check the sheltered & unsheltered home less peole nationwide almost 2/3 stayed in an emergency shelters housing programmes& some percentage had to sleep in streets or abandoned buildings.As number of US citizens made shelters in their vehicles because they could afford housing as the steep rise in the cost of living .
Many reasons were concluded :1) stanant wages for the least skilled workers 2) Increase in single house hold parent 3. ) Less government focus on the poor 4)Lack of Affordable quality education 5) Increased cost of living 6) Increase incost of medical care.) Rising cost of educations colleges & tutions These are some of the main reasons for the increase of poverty in U.S.
Defination of welfare : The well-being of a society or a family & is concerned with the quality of life which may include many factors such as quality of enviroment , level of crime, extent of drug abuse, available of social services ,as well as religious & spiitual of life.
