In health care setting ,IT plays a major role in Nursing. The IT system allows to improve efficiency and communication among health care workers. Health information technology is a central aspect of modern hospital to reduce costs and improve efficiency and safety of healthcare system. Whereas some of the hospitals in India has not adopted Health IT system yet.Thses hospitals used papers and manpower to communicate each other which results in time consuming and delayed treatment. For example a critical patient needs a urgent lab report for his immediate surgery. The lack of IT system plays an important role in this case. In this case the health care needs to communicate frequently with laboratory technician to get report and the arrival of report in handwritten will also time consuming. Medicine dispatching from pharmacy will also affects. An electronic health record is a digital version of a patient’s medical history. It can include progress notes, providers, problems, medications, lab data, etc. This can improve patient care by improving the accuracy and clarity of medical records, and making data easily accessible to healthcare providers, doctors, and patients. Those hospitals with no IT settings use telecommunication and papers more frequently. These hospital appointed a ward boy in each ward to transport blood samples and to get reports, medicines and patient. These type of hospitals still following this method because to increase interpersonal relationship between workers and patients.
