If you were to create a social media policy including Slack, what types of rules would you include and why? Write three rules and explain the reasoning behind them. Do you think the use of technology can more often than not help or hinder communication among individuals and groups?
Below are the three rules to consider to create a social media policy using Slack:
1. Non discrimination: The first rule would be no discrimination of anybperson based on caste, creed, color, sex, culture, religion etc. All persons are to be treated equally and given fair treatment as well. This is because social media policy must not be partial in nature otherwise it is not effective to all. It must be fair and equal for everyone.
2. Health and safety,: Social media policy must place equal importance to health, safety and well being of everyone. This must be done bevause health and lifestyle is of prime importance and a company must invest in health of its employees and their safety must be of prime concern to the organization and it must be included in their social media policy as well.
3. Compliance with the law: Social media policy must also be complaint with law and must promote lawful practices because unlawful practices lead to unsafe work environment which becomes too risky. An organization must conduct fair, ethical and lawful practices and must promote it as well in their social media policy.
In my opinion, use of technology more often than not helps communication among individuals and groups because technoyavts as an enabler which acts as a medium of communication among individuals and groups and also motivates them to come forward and communicate with others.
