Give a comparative analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of survey research
Survey research is a well-designed assessment of factual matters or attitudes about the certain things. It has both strengths and weakness. Some of the major strengths and weaknesses are highlighted as follows.
The survey is very cost effective and can be collected to a very large sample because of its standardization. The results also have the capability to be a representation of the population because a large number of population can be surveyed in a short time. Since the questionnaire is standardized, there is very less chance of subjective bias and it shows the precise results.
On the other hand, since the survey is already standardized there is no chance of flexibility or alteration to the measures. Also, the questions that are controversial may not be answered genuinely by the participants. Since most of the study is carried at one time, it becomes impossible for the researcher to make sure that everybody answers all the question.
