The nurse should information the patient that resisting the rituals while being exposed to the object of anxiety is actually less stressful and time- consisting than performing the rituals.
The nurse could also do is to show the patient that the distressing outcomes they perceive from not doing these compulsive rituals , are actually not going to happen this can extinguish the compulsive behaviors

Our should always complete a suicide assessment when it comes to patients who have a mental health disorder
The severity of the obsessions and compulsions should also be assessed.
A physical health assessment should also be carried our along with a psychological assessment.
