How much work does an electric field do in moving a proton from a point with a potential of +125V to a point where it is -55V? Express your answer in both joules and electron-volts.

Proton moving from a point with Potentialdifference + 125 V to - 55 V

            Potential difference ?V = 125 V + 55 V
                                                  = 180 V

      Work done is q ?V

                                   W = 1.6 *10-19 C * 180 V
                                           = 288 *10-19 J

                                        W = 288 *10-19 J / 1.6 *10-19 C
                                                = 180 e V
