Recently I managed my anger on public conveyance when a young man was seating on seat reserved for disabled and one of disabled was standing nearby in absence if seat. When asked to young man to vacate he replied to take care of oneself and not interfere in others matter, I got angry that despite knowing the rules , person is behaving rude. I was feeling like hitting him but I realised that I m getting emotionally charged. I thought of my emotional and took long breathe for few second , my anger called down I called security man of conveyance and explained the case.
The secind case is of hatred towards a person found indulged in rape of child. He is on bail and I feel like going and asking how he managed to perform the devil. I have strong dislike fir him. But soon I realised , I am wasting my time and energy thinking of that guy. I made my mind not to hate the person thinking the significance if saying- hate the sin not the sinner.
Here , my early experiences where in same situation I reacted and had to suffer , has helped my cognitively appraise the situation.
My culture always promote calmness instead of unnecessary aggression. I have learnt it from very childhood. This helps me controlling my negative emotion.
I donot find any gender specific reason that could help in emotion control.
