✓ measuring scales are the important tools to measure the datas in a research, study, survey and other reporting work. Nominal scales are used to label the variables, that doesn't have any quantitative number/value. For example: male, female

Ordinal scale helps to understand the feelings and level of emotions. For example; happiness, satisfaction, dissatisfaction, etc.

An interval scale is used when variables can be quantified, with a specific difference in the range of values. But, it has no definite zero so it's interpretation become difficult. For example: frequency of the students taking marks in a subject. 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, etc. It can't be used to calculate rations and is only suitable when addition and subtraction is applied for the calculation.

Ratio scale helps to quantify the variables, with a definite zero and support ratio calculation with definite values. For example: height of a person, age of a person, etc.

(3) Rank the following according to your preferences:

            __Tide   __Wisk   ___Surf

            __Cheer   ___Bold

✓ nominal scale

(4) What is the level of education for the head of household?

__Some high school     __High school graduate

__Some college                        __College graduate and/or graduate work

(5) What is your age? __
