You have a very unusual encounter one evening. You are walking along when a shady gentleman steps into your path. He informs you that he is a wizard and has been paid a large sum of money to cast a spell on you that will destroy ONE part of your brain. But at least you can choose which brain structure he will remove. Write about which brain structure you would choose to lose, and why. How would the loss of this part of your brain possibly influence other parts of your brain and/or senses? Be specific.

Solutions

Expert Solution

If there is any chance to loss any brain structure in our brain without side effects I would choose to loss “Right prefrontal cortex”.

RIGHT PREFRONTAL CORTEX:

It exists in right front part of our brain, just above our eyeball. This is responsible for our negative thoughts. Persons who are suffering with negative thoughts from long time and experiencing depression, medical visualization proved that this part of the brain is hyperactive or overly developed in those persons.

WHY I SELECTED THIS AREA:

We know that our all bad decisions are taken from our negative thoughts. Results bad experiences. If we lost the Right prefrontal cortex , we will reduce our negative thoughts. That’s why I selected.

Absense of Right prefrontal cortex reinforces the actions of Cerebellum, Hypothalamus, and Limbic System

Changes in CEREBELLUM in the absense of RIGHT PREFRONTAL CORTEX:

Cerebellum is resposible for cognitive functions in the brain. The main problem of cognitive functions is negative thoughts among the things and persons. If we deleted the Right prefrontal cortex in our brain results negative thoughts will be decresed. Then cerebellum participates in cognitive process effectively.

Changes in HYPOTHALAMUS in the absense of RIGHT PREFRONTAL CORTEX:

Hypothalamus is resposible for our emotions in body. This is also resposible for negative emotions like angry, hate, frustation, despair etc., If we control negative thoughts we can also control negative emotions. Therefore lack of Right prefrontal cortex reinforces the actions of Hypothalamus in positive way

Changes in LIMBIC SYSTEM in the absence of RIGHT PREFRONTAL CORTEX:

Limbic system is responsible for memory and learning processess. These processess are mainly effected by negative thoughts. If we deleted the Right prefrontal cortex we can reinforce the memory and learning process.
