Compile a list of your top-five personal guidelines for professionalism and ethics. This list should be a reflection of the values that you hold and how they are reflected in your professionalism. Your list must be thoughtful and detailed enough to show effort and authenticity in your guidelines. After stating each guiding ethic in your top-five list, include two sentences: 1. discussing why this is important to you, and 2. what it looks like to live that guideline out at work.
Ethics and guidelines are the basic fundamentals in both personal and professional workplace lives. One should always follow his/her own percieved values and norms to always find the trust within oneself. The 5 ethics I believe are important for professionalism are:
1. Loyal: One should always be loyal in the organisation. This loyalty doesn't only belong to the people working, but also extends to your commitment towards work, resources, deadlines, taks, standards and yourself. One should be loyal and driven in the organisation to work.
2. True to Onself: One should be always truthful to himself/herself. One shouldn't compromise and sacrifice to make others happy. One's own happiness and persuit to satisfaction is an important element of professionalism.
3. Control: Control is very important in life. One should have an effective control with the performance he does, his greed, his anger, his reactions, his relations everything when done in a controlled manner is always effective.
4. Communicate: To communicate is one important element of a professional life. You can't survive your life in professionalism if you don't know how to communicate effectively being it motivation, leadership, influence, guidance or anything you wish to speak or let people know.
5. Quality over Quantity: At last, the importance of quality over quantity. Again, it doesn't rely on own resources, the thoughts, the money, the power and the people you are with they should be qualitative not only the numbers.
The five ethics I wrote are very important to me because I follow them in daily basis not only in the organisation but also in my personal life. Having qualitative friends, control over my greed, communicating good thoughts, sharing my values and being committed to my work and study makes my life more enriching and better.
To live that guideline mentioned above in work is important because it covers all the important criteria one should take care of in the organisation. Being it to effective plan, organise, staff, direct, control or to communicate, the guidelines mentioned above covers all the management functions and provide an ethica look over it.
