What is your view of race relations in general, and of color blindness in particular especially, but not only, at work?
In general, race relations and color blindness is a concept in sociology describing that the society does not have any racial discrimination based on the skin color of the person. Any person should not be rejected any opportunity based on their race or color. This concept is formed so that the goal of racial equality is promoted.
This means that under the law, any person would be treated equal whether he/she would be of any race, religion, gender, color or national origin. Any person should be judged by the content of his/her character and by their race or skin color. The ideology of color blindness is based on the tenets of equal protection under the law, due process of law, non-discrimination and equal opportunities regardless of color, race, ideas which had a strong influence on Western liberalism after the World-war II period.
Such idea of equality gained importance for the Civil Rights Movement in 1950 and for the international anti-discrimination movement in 1960. But the goal of racial equality was formed in 1964 under civil rights act in the US.
Thus, there should be no discrimination based on race or skin color of any person and a racial equality must be practiced in order to form good civil society.
