Self-directed learners tend to be able to transfer their learning from the knowledge they acquire into different contexts and for different applications. Also, the habits of self-directed learners are consistent with that of leaders and facilitators, thus providing them with practice and preparation for leadership roles. You will learn about the benefits of these methods and how they can help to enhance your learning and motivate you to take ownership of your learning process, which will lead you down a path toward ongoing lifelong learning. The successful UoPeople student does the following:
Takes ownership of the learning process by setting personal educational goals, and monitoring their own progress.
Is self-motivated to learn and understand; not only driven by grades or external praise.
Pushes him/herself to think deeper about issues and draw connections to their personal, academic, and professional lives.
Views the instructor as a guide, but themselves as the pursuer of deeper understanding.
Learns collaboratively, through peer engagement and feedback.
Seeks out the available resources and understands the scope of the University, its departments, and its learning philosophy and approach.
Understands the importance of applying the knowledge learned in the classroom to continued personal and career development potential.

Individuals who are self-motivated have more intrinsic motivation. The chart below (http://mmrg.pbworks.com/f/Ryan,+Deci+00.pdf) shows the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and is known as the “Self-determination Theory”.
1. Describe the essential aspects of a self-directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner? 2. Identify two areas of personal strength and two areas of personal weakness in being a self-motivated and engaged student. 3. Plan at least 5 strategies for personal growth and explain how you will implement each one. 4. How will you evaluate yourself on the success of your personal growth plan and how will you hold yourself accountable? 5. You should provide a word count.
ANS 1 )Independence means that you do not depend on others, some students depend on others, and they wait for others to support them in their assignment but for self-learner is the opposite.
Take initiative
Self-learner decide what to do before it is instructed to do so
- Is comfortable with independence
Independence means that you do not depend on others, some students depend on others, and they wait for others to support them in their assignment but for self-learner is the opposite.
- Accepts responsibility
Like other fields of life, learning also is a responsibility, it's not something you do because you are passing time, but it is something will make the image of your life in the next generation
- Views problems as challenges, not obstacles
Problems for intelligent is a chance to think big! But for those who fear to progress, they fear to be challanges which open our mindsSelf Confidence
Self-learner believes in him/herself, this gives intrinsic motivation to him which set a great vision in his learning to be what he wants to be in a positive way.
- Active in all class activities
Online education is a place where there is nobody will be tracking to raise up a hand for participation, being motivated to be active intrinsically in all class assignments by doing deep research and thinking beyond getting grades. Active learner carefully listens to the conversation and make sure that he/she will reply with a great answer. Active learner visualizes any image and gets what it means

ANS4 ) Self valuation is the most important key to check if I am the right path toward my goals. It is hard to evaluate yourself, you can but you get biased as everybody loves him/herself. But my evaluation will depend on these strategies . will also evaluate my personal growth by measuring my previous performance and current performance and see decide according to my progress. As a self-motivated learner, my purpose is to always improve my level of understanding practicing what I have learned.
ANS 3)
explanations: 1) IN setting goals :means to be clear with the objectives& To achive all the we have to be specfic , mesurable , achiveable realistic & time based
2) write down : mentioning & noteing each & every aspect in your dairy ,in this your plans become more concreate & tangible , can remember the previous discussions .A check list prepared , with the points that are unticked will make you to achive the goals.
3) Dowhat works for you :f you've done something in a certain way before and it helped you improve, then use that tactic again for example if you know that you respond better to learning through training courses.
4) Go at your own place you shouldn't pressurise yourself to achieve something in too short a timeframe. We often overcommit, so if you can't reach your goal in the time you have allowed, be kind to yourself and relax the deadline. If your goal is marathon-like, you might not achieve it all in one go, but each step you take will be a step nearer the finishing line.
5) Start Small :"make yourself a better communicator". But if you break the target down into smaller steps & start on just one of them, then the task seems less formidable. If you challenge yourself to achieve goal at first, you can grow from there once you're ready. Reaching a small, more achievable personal development goal empowers & encourages us to continue. you will be gladly working away towards your ultimate end-goal.
6) Improve existing skills :self-improvement,means concentrate on learning something new. But sometimes you might want to consider improving something you're already good at, rather than addressing one of your weaknesses. we focus on our negatives. But if we can strengthen something you're already good at, you could become extraordinary person. The benefits of that to your small business could be spectacular
