As a trainer, what would your role be in a self-directed learning program?

Self Directed Learning is the concept which is widely accepted in today's world and it is said to be the most popular way of conducting the process of learning. In this way of learning each and every student or trainee should take the responsibility of their own learning and therefore in such a program as the trainer my role would be to make the students understand the concepts of self directed learning and the advantages of those way as well which will help them in their venture to learn in a better way. This will help the learner developed the capacity of their own learning and also to develop the independence they should possess while learning. This will also help in decision making and problem solving skills of the learner and that is the reason this way of learning has been so effective. Therefore in this way of learning as a trainer the responsibilities actually decrease and gets easy for me because I just need to make them understand the concept and then it is their responsibility gather knowledge about each and every topic that has been discussed.
