In light of feedback received from my classmates, teachers, parents and the administrative staff in my role as class president, I conclude that overall in my tenure, i showed exemplary leadership skills which were visible in the decisions i took and the steps that me and my team took to make lives of the students easier at school. However, my leadership was not without faults and hence it would make sense for me to lay down my strengths and weaknesses as a leader.

Strengths

  • I am a strict disciplinarian and uphold the rules of the institutions.
  • I am a curious person always ready to learn new things and make additions to my existing knowledge.
  • I value punctuality and try to impart this value in my peers. TIme is really important for me.
  • I am neither too rigid to work with nor too malleable. I give others the space to put forth their opinion while keeping mine as well.
  • I am someone who believes in team work and clear delienation of roles to each member.
  • I value honesty and motivate my peers to be the same.
  • I have what it takes to make decisions as and when required.
  • I am accountable and transparent in my decision making process.
  • I am someone who is humble.
  • I am able to put myself in someone else's shoes and be empathetic towards them.

While these strengths helped me be a good leader, I have some weaknesses that i need to fix and become a better individual.

Weaknesses

  • I tend to be a people pleaser and not say no to proposals that others have put up even though these may not be feasible.
  • At times I become lethargic and procrastinate about carrying out my task.
  • I am at times unable to set a clear path to follow to achieve a goal, this leads to a delay in carrying out the task.
  • I often compare myself to others without realizing everyone has different potentials and capabilities.
  • At times I am not open to criticism of my work.
  • I tend to dwell in the past.
  • I sometimes lack trust in my colleagues and end up interfering in their task to ensure that it is being done as I want it.
  • I tend to pass responsibilities to others when i do not feel like doing something.
  • Although not often, i have the urge to recognized and be gicen credit.
  • At times, I tend to be arrogant. However this is towards people i do not like.

Given the list of strengths and weaknesses i believe that my leadership skills would be enhanced if i were to fix my weaknesses. This would make me better in a holisitc way and also improve my own self esteem.
