Nature vs nurture debate is a very old debate and a much important concept in psychology especially developmental psychology. Both nature and nurture play equally important and crucial roles in a child’s development.

Biological Factor

Nutrition
Proper nutritionist mother has a vital role in child’s overall development. Before birth, mother’s diet and overall health have a significant impact on the child’s development and growth.Folic acid intake of 400 micrograms (mcg) daily for a period of 3 months before conception and during early pregnancy significantly decrease risk of certain birth defects in a baby’s brain (anencephaly) and spine (spina bifida).
These defects in child can occur in the first few weeks of pregnancy, and therefore it is very crucial for mothers in their childbearing years to ensure that they are taking at least 400 micrograms of folic acid on daily basis .

Environmental factor

A Learning Environment:
Parents and family are child’s first teacher, so it’s important for them to create an environment that stimulates and aids child’s skill development and overall development.
A positive and relaxed environment at home will always help the child to concentrate on studies , perform tasks effectively and confidently and learn better.
Both the parents of the child should create opportunities that allow child to explore, even within the home.They should Always encourage child to ask questions and look for solutions. It will help them grasp more knowledge.Parent have the biggest responsibility of creating the right environment for their child as it will affect her personality, learning and behavior.There is a positive correlation between environment and child development.
A happy , loving and positive home environment can result in a healthy and secure child.
