American exceptionalism and nationalism grew out of the American revolution.American exceptionalism refers to the concept which depicts that the United states is unique and is different from the rest of the world. It is concluded after many researches that Americans believe that United states is an exceptional nation because of its national credo, historical evolution,or distinctive political and religious institutions..American exceptionalism , the term was founded by the brilliant work of Alexis de Tocqueville which stands for qualitatively different from all other western countries.A milestone in the history of American Exceptionalism is the American Revolution. The ideas that created the American revolution were derived from a tradition of republicanism which had been repudiated by the British mainstream.Thomas paine first time expressed the belief that America was not just an extension of Europe itself but totally a new land a country of unlimited potential and opportunity that had outgrown the British country.these sentiments laid the foundation for the revolutionary concept of American exceptionalism and which was also tied to republicanism, the belief which says that sovereignity belonged to the people not to hereditrary ruling class.American nationalism is considered to be cultural nationalism or ethnic nationalism found in the United States the term itself explains efforts to reinforce its national identity and self determination within its national and international affairs.American nationalism is not an introspective phenomenon but a demarcation process. There were four types of American nationalist including groups which were the disengaged, the civic nationalists, the ardent nationalists, and the restrictive nationalists.
