1. Compare the types/levels of need assessment. In what ways can each of these be applied to a training plan? Which method of needs assessment would you use to identify training needs? Why?
Organizational assessment.
Occupational (task) assessment
Individual assessment
1. Organizational assessment: Organizational assessment is done when the workforce needs to be provided training about organizational vision, mission, goals etc. In order to make the employees aware about the organizational mission and vision and what does the organization want to achieve, this assessment is required.
2. Occupational assessment: This assessment is done in order to establish training needs of specific job profile or task. Different profiles in the organization have different training needs based on the technicalities of that profile. Hence occupational assessment is needed under such circumstances.
3. Individual assessment: This assessment is done in order to know the individual training gaps and skillsets building requirements of an individual. Also in order to ascertain soft skills development of individuals, this assessment is required. Based on the individual assessment, specific training plans are designed for different individuals and also individual mentoring is done.
In order to identify training needs, individual assessment is done. This is because through individual assessment, employees tell the employees about their training requirements and what kind of skill sets do they require to build. Then specific training programs are built in order to impart those trainings to the employees.
