Q1: What is the difference between a Safety Case and a Safety Management System? Why is a Major Hazard Facility (MHF) required to have a Safety Case? Is is acceptable to have an MHF near a residential area?

Q2: What is the ALARP Principle and where is it used? Is this the same as SFAIRP? Why should a risk reduced to ALARP only be undertaken if there is a clear benefit in the activity?

Q3: "No Electrician is allowed to work on live equipment". Would the full implementation of this policy be ALARP? Is it Practicable? Would there be times when this policy could not be met?

As it is important direction document, it is produced by the operator to make sure the management of safety cases are applied efficiently and regularly.

safety management system- As the name implies, it is the system of management that ensure safety, health and provide all safety measure for all accident event. safety management system is a part of safety case which is provide by the operator to safeguard all control measured applied.

Major Hazards facilities are known as locations where huge amount of high risk material handled and stored. the location like chemical sites, inflammable fuel and chemical storage plant or oil refineries are known as major hazard facilities. therefore, it is the duty of operator to established a safety case to make sure all control measures for handling all high risk material are applied efficiently and regularly.

No it is not admissible to have major hazard facility near residential area due to high risk factor
