Solutions

Expert Solution

Introversion and extroversion are conceptualized as two ends of a spectrum. Both these personality traits offer advantages and disadvantages, depending on the circumstances. Introverts possess a calm demeanor, which means they tend to remain calm and composed even when there is a crisis. While extroverts rely heavily on others when it comes to making decisions or emotional support, introverts are independent and have the capability to manage their life entirely by themselves. Furthermore, introverts invest more time when it comes to thinking issues through and are less likely to face sudden surprises, disasters and upsets as in the case of extroverts.
On the other hand, extroverts, unlike introverts, are highly responsive and receptive to others. They are able to adapt well to the environment around them by building strong interpersonal relationships. Relatedly, extroverts enjoy dynamic environments and can dabble with multiple tasks at the same time. They take less time to adjust to novel and changing settings. Finally, extroverts are excellent at networking. In sharp contrast to introverts, they do not wait to be introduced but rather introduce themselves, and enliven events and functions.
