explain the reasoning of sending a lymph node biopsy from removal of a lump on a womans breast to the pathology lab for microscopic analysis evaluation
? what is the rational for reducing dietary salt for patients with high blood pressure?
to measure blood pressure, what artery would you most commonly use and why?
calculate the IRV of an individual with a vital capacity of 4,400ml, and ERV of 1,300mL and a tidal volume of 500ML
Trace a breath of air from the external nares through the respiratory system to the alveolar sacs
how would you expect the blood pressure changes afther excercise vary from people who are in shape versus those who are out of shape
THIS IS ANATOMY 2 Class
Lymph node biopsy can help you diagnose if your having cancer, or to check if the cancer is spread to other areas. In addition this test also helps us to find if there is any chronic infection or any immune disorder.
By reducing your salt intake you will be able to reduce blood pressure and better manage your hypertension, when there is too much salt in your body, salt has the capablity of retaining water as a result your blood volume increases which can further increase blood pressure.
To measur blood pressure Brachial artery are used, the brachial arteries pulse can be felt on the elbows front side, this is why blood pressure is measured in this area.
To calculate IRV we modify the fromula used to calculate tidal volume, VC = TV+IRV+ERV.
IRV = VC - (TV +ERV),
VC = 4,400 ml, TV = 500 ml, ERV = 1300 ml
IRV = 4,400 - (500 + 1300) = 2600 ml
During breathing air first enters the pair of external nares, than to the nasal cavity, than to the naso pharynx, oropharynx, laryngopharynx than finally to pharynx, from here it goes to trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, terminal bronchiole and finally into the alveoli.
In case of people who are in shape, the rise in blood pressure value will be less as to compared to people who are out of shape, as people who are in shape are able to use oxygen more effectively as source of energy.
