The three component theory of stratification was formed by Weber. The three components are class, status and party followed by power , stratification and social honor .

According to Weber , Class  is a group of people who belongs to the same class situation. Eg: Proletariat or the working class was regarded as a class who belonged to a specific class structure in the society .

Status : Consisting of a group of people , who are distinguished on the basis of non - economic qualities such as prestige , honour , race , religion , etc.

Power : Weber meant dealing with the political powers. i.e. the revolutions. During his time , Churches used to hold powers and hence the authorities took the decision.

Party : It reperesented a group of people , who were divided/ distinguished by their affiliation towards different political groups of the society. Eg : A ,B, C are considered to be individuals . A shows affinity towards democratic party , B shows affinity towards Congress party and C shows affinity towards BJP party. This shows how individuals get divided on the basis of party .

Stratification : It is the formation of categories. Eg : Upper class , Middle class and Lower class.

Social Honor: A group which is socially recognized by the society. It is social in nature. It is connected to social evaluations of society. Eg : recognizing religious characteristics of a group , to understand male - female characteristics. etc.
