Organizational standards consists of a set of principles and
regulation formulated by the organisation to be followed by the
employees that influence their behaviour.
Some key organizational standards are :
1. Code of conduct : under this standard the organisation has
set some basics rules to be followed by the employees about how
they conduct or behave in the office environmental.
Code of conduct has a great impact on my role. As I am a nurse
practitioner, I need to behave professionally with my patients and
need to maintain cordiall relations with my colleagues.
2. Non alcohol and smoking policy: my organisation follows a no
smoking and alcohol policy at work place.
This policy allows us to maintain a healthy environment in our
organisation and prevent any nuisance caused by alcohol
abuse.
It also enables me to take responsibility to report to higher
authorities if I see any employee violating this standard.
3. Health and safety policy : This policy enlists principles and
guidelines to promote behaviour and practices at workplace that
will minimize health related risks and workplace injuries.
This policy has a great impact on my role. As a nurse practitioner
I need to ensure correct handling of drugs and other hazardous
substances. I need to practice proper sanitization, sterilisation,
patient handling to prevent patient injuries.
