  • We live in a society which is becoming more and more dependent on cellphones and other devices. This leads to parents buying "things" for their kids and not spending time with them. This in turn leads to kids being loners and isolated from others. • To compound matters, she reportedly taught him to use high powered firearms at a range. Individuals such as this have more difficulty expressing their feelings. On the surface, they are affable and engaging, yet under the surface they pent up their feelings. When feelings are suppressed, they accumulate. Then there is explosive discharge.
  • And that is why gun control is linked to forensic psychology since a forensic psychologist is one who can conduct reasearch and study offenders to figure out what traits these offenders have, which may involve interviewing criminals along with their loved ones and victims.
  • With the increase in mass shootings,it has become absolutely necessary to have gun control system and for that forensic psychologists along with the government need to understand the psychology behind this form of violence happening among young people.
  • Analysing the factors related to mental health, family factors, childhood trauma etc. is something a forensic psychologist can do.
  • The preponderance of available evidence indicates that having a gun in the home is associated with a greater risk of accidental death, homicide, suicide, and a greater risk especially of female and childhood death by firearm. As a result, the significant public health risk of firearm ownership has become a known dictum in the medical literature.
