People normally go through lots of stress on a daily basis which would lead some to adopt negative coping strategies such as, drugs, alcohol, cigarette etc. and others to choose positive coping strategies such as, meditation, yoga, exercise etc. What one chooses as one’s coping strategy would depend on one’s environment such as, family, friends, parents, socio-economic factors etc. However, only when people engage in positive coping strategies people would be able to overcome their stressors and this coping should be something one likes to do. When one is interested in something, one would love to do it effortlessly thus, refreshing oneself for better. One of the most important coping strategies is to engage in physical exercise which would not only sweat out one’s physical stress but also the mental stress while yoga and meditation would also help one overcome one’s mental stress. Besides, these there are other coping strategies that are effective too. Music is one of the most important among them because listening music would help one focus on the present and overcome the stressors. Talking to friends and family members would do a great deal of help in overcoming one’s stressors because people are social animals and they would love to be belonged and valued. Thus, when there are people around to listen to someone, one would be able to cope better.
