Solutions

Expert Solution

Providing free space for student web pages can have it's own advantages and disadvantages.
Situation-1: What if we offer free space for student web pages:
Advantages:
1. The student can use it to store their documents.
2. It can also be used as to store the soft copy of their notes for future references.
3. The student can separate their contents with each others.
4. Any new contents can easily be added or removed based on the requirement i.e., managing documents can be made easier.
5. The documents added can be accessed and modified from anywhere i.e., it will become portable.
Disadvantages:
1. The students can use it for their personal use which is not recommended.
2. The students can misuse the space for other works.
3. It can be used to keep copyright content which is illegal like any new release movies.
4. The space needs to be managed properly because giving each and every students a separate space, the memory need to be huge.
5. It will be costly for the management.

Situation-2: What if we do not offer free space for student web pages:
Advantages:
1. There will be no overhead for the management to manage the space distribution.
2. It will save organization cost.
Disadvantages:
1. The students require their personal space for keeping their important documents like certificates and personal notes.
2. Managing the documents will become difficult.

So, giving free space to the student looks feasible from students point of view but in-feasible from school's point of view. However, If we will give free space to the students, we must needs to monitor the contents of the students so that we can tackle from most of the disadvantages.
