Eriksons theory of psychological development has eight distinct stages in which industry versus inferiority is fourth stage of development .the personality develops in a predeterminate order and builds upon previous stage.the person experienced a psychological crisis which could be positive or negative outcomes for personality development.
According to Erikson's theory the changes occurs in people through our the life span from birth to death but according to this theory the socioemotional factors influence individuals physiologic growth and development also achieving trust is the primary task of development
Industry versus inferiority of physiological development stage occurs during childhood at the age of six to eleven years.this stage is vital in developing self esteem and self confidence the children are busy in schools and other social activities .they put their attention in reading, writting, drawing and problem solving.during this stage children are interaction centered and the realm of social influences increases.friends and colleges of children play a crucial role in industry versus inferiority stage through proficiency at play and school work.children develop sense of competence and pride of their abilities and by this they are able to to form self concept
kids who does well in school develops a sense of compitance and confidence and those who struggle feels inadequancy and inferiority.at this stage it is important for teachers and parents to offer support and encouragement especially for those students who struggle with the feeling of inferiority
