Q1.Health care organisations are experiencing a marked change and transition from a traditional model based organisation to a progressive organization that can provide value to the society through its innovations and efficient manufacturing setup.

In such a situation, strategic thinking is a necessity within the organisation so as to encourage efficiency and innovation. The two processes that can be introduced are as follows -

  • A central repository creation where all the employees are required to post a change that they would like to bring in their processes which would improve their effectiveness and efficiency. This will allow the people to think in a progressive manner and will also stir up intellectual discussions among teams.
  • Weekly Huddles - This will be asked by the team leads to conduct on a weekly basis where a consultant would educate the team on strategic and critical thinking. There would be specific problem statements derived and the progress of the teams would be shared. This will encourage contribution from the team as certain rewards and recognition would also be provided for contribution.

Q2. One external challenge that the health care organisations must be prepared to face is the increase in government regulations. With the current pandemic situation in the world, the governments are struggling to find the right medical support. Hence the health care organisations would now face stiff regulations from the government. To be better prepared to answer such challenges all health care organisations will have to streamline their processes and ensure that the current regulations are met. The health care organisations would also have to be proactive to ensure that future society needs are ensured. In this case the role of strategic partners and business facilitators will change from that of advisors and consultants to that of implementation managers and reviewers so as to identify any process glitches and correct them. Their role would also change more into a mainstream function to ensure that new regulations of the governments are also met and any legal hazards are avoided.
