1. This research seeks to provide a framework for the application of quality tools for the improvement of the healthcare in Puerto Rico. Understanding the current practice for disease diagnosis in Puerto Rico can help establish the parallelism between disease diagnosis and problem solving models used in manufacturing and quality engineering. Moreover, based on the findings of this research, recommendations can be made to propose a model to structure and assist clinical reasoning, screening guidelines and differential diagnosis thus promoting the health and wellness of patients.

2. “The main objective of this design project is a reduction of Customer Complaints and Federal Drug Administration’s Field Alerts related to counterfeiting and bottle tampering for the pharmaceutical Product Z, and to gain customer satisfaction and their loyalty to the Company’s trademark".

3. “The main objective of this project is to identify opportunities to reduce the time required to prepare Analytical data section of the Annual Product Review by re-distributing tasks and practices or processes standardization. If possible, eliminate manual process and utilize current systems such as: SAP, GLIMS, OCM, and Track wise; remove repetitive tasks or waste. All the improvements should maintain compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, corporate policies and regulatory agencies.

1. The research aims to improve the health care in Puerto Rico by quality improvement of tools, diagnosis methodologies and manufacturing of equipments. There must be a coherence among disease diagnosis, problem solving models, manufacturing/ engineering and quality improvement methodologies. Hence, the major contribution can be made in the form of analysis of past data along with current practices employed in the health care sector for drawing correlation with various scientific models. Based upon the results, the diagosis methodologies along with the manufacturing/ engineering of equipments can be significantly improved by employing advanced models.

2. Due to the substantial rise in cases of counterfeiting and bottle tampering of pharmaceutical product 'X', this design project has been deployed. It aims to reduce customer complaints which is indicative of gaining customer satisfaction which would further lead to increased loyalty to the company's trademark. The project also aims to support FDA by reporting the fraudulent cases and following their leads and alerts.

3. The project aims to reduce the time required to prepare analytical data section of annual product review through the means of process standardization and automation. Current systems including SAP, GLIMS, OCM and Trackwise are quite adequate in automating the manual processes, significantly reducing labor time. The project aims to explore all the possible opportunities in this area while maintainingmaintaining compliance with SOPs, corporate policies and regulatory agencies.
