An operating system is a program that acts as an interface
between the user and the computer hardware and controls the
execution of all kinds of programs.
The main function of an operating system is Memory Management,
Processor management, Device management, File management,
etc.
There are also various type of operating systems like
single-tasking and multi-tasking, single-user and multi-user,
distributed, real-time, embedded, etc.
Early computers were built to perform a series of single tasks, like a calculator. In the 1940s, the earliest electronic digital systems had no operating systems. Electronic systems of this time were programmed on rows of mechanical switches or by jumper wires on plugboards. These were special-purpose systems that, for example, generated ballistics tables for the military or controlled the printing of payroll checks from data on punched paper cards. After programmable general-purpose computers were invented, machine languages were introduced that sped up the programming process.
In the 1950s, a computer could execute only one program at a time but with the time when in 1980s personal computer become popular, operating systems were made for them similar in concept to those used on larger computers and it also supports multiprogramming but at the present time Operating system become so advanced and complex that support multiprogramming multiprocessor, multi-user and also maintain the component of computer system so efficiently.
Buying a computer is really very easy but at this time various operating system is available in the market like Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Chrome Os, etc. These operating have some special features that make them unique. Because of various Operating System is available in the market so it makes difficult to choose an operating system for a specific person, from my experience if you are a programmer then Linux and MacOs is best suited and for a gamer and personal use, Windows is best.
For authoritative information about mainstream modern Operating Systems, you have to go through the documentation of these Operating system here you can know what’s the of that Operating system and how if any problem occurs then solve it. You can also visit the official website of the provider there you can find out some important information about your operating system you can also find out some video on YouTube about how to choose an operating system. When you buy a new operating system then you also get documentation of it.
Os analysis is very important for the user when I was in school
then I only use my desktop play games and for it I use Windows even
I don’t know what it is only I have to play game other thing
doesn’t matter for me at that time but when in getting admission in
college then I realize windows not so much suited for programming
purpose then I decide to change my operating system I have analysis
some of the operating systems but because Linux is open source I
decide to install it but in Linux there is no game that you can
play some of then are available but they are very old and graphics
also not so good.
But if you look from the programming point of view it is very
useful and another thing is that Linux is also faster than the
Windows but if you use your laptop or PC for personal use like
presentation, playing video and music, drawing, gaming, business
work, etc. Then you to go for the windows because Windows graphics
user interface is so nice I love that, anyone can run it
easily.
Hardware of your system is also considerable in choosing of
operating system because some of operating System doesn’t not run
very well on the every system for example Linux is not suited for
AMD processor and also if thing you can install any operating
system on any system that doesn’t work in this way, its depend on
your system bios and system driver is it compitable to install a
specific system or not. So it is very important to analyze your
system and operating system both is it compatible with your system
or not.
