"Social Media Metrics" Please respond to the following: Conduct a brief content analysis of NASCAR’s social media presence. What strategy are they following and what kind of content are they producing? Why do you think it has worked so well? Measurement, metrics, and return on investment (ROI) are very important. Do some research and find what experts agree to be the top social media metrics that prove real ROI. How can businesses use these metrics to improve their social media strategy?
NASCAR is an auto racing company situated in America which one known for stock car racing. NASCAR was founded by Bill France in 1948 and in 2003 his grandson Brian france become the CEO of the organization. This company organizes the car racing with different cup series such as Xfinity series, Gander Outdoors truck series, NASCAR Cup Series, Whelen Euro Series and Mexico Series, etc. They had organized the around 1200 races at 80 tracks in 43 US States and in other countries also. NASCAR is not working independently which means they are tied up investment bank Goldman Sachs group Inc. to find the potential deal.
NASACR faced the down fall in between mid 1990’s to 2007 with decrease in fan following number and fall in TV rating. Reason behind this situation was that there main champions retired from NASCAR in 1990 to 2017. They need to invest in race track which will become fan-friendly.
This racing world is bringing the large crowd and creating the racing culture which is unmatched with other sports. Racing sport is the full of excitement and enthusiasm especially formula 1 of NASCAR in current scenario. Major reason in regain its image is Media. Media had always big impact on popularity of formula 1 and NASCAR. They are bringing the sponsors and delivering the sport in each corner of the world. Hence number of viewers directly linked with sponsor investment.
The coverage about race is not sufficient, because fans are interested in inside information, gossips and information related with rule change and what happening in racing world.
Apart from live media, there are few apps available such as NASCAR Mobile and Official F1 app tied up with social media sites such as Twitter. It makes the instant connection with their fans. These apps provide the live streaming of racing events and its highlights in real time.
So this strategy worked well and brought up the NASCAR.
