Discuss why effective Team Management is crucial to the success of a Leader?
One of the most important responsibilities of a leader is to coordinate the activities in a team. This would mean that assigning the tasks to each member’s ability is really important in ensuring the smooth process of a team. This would mean that the tasks each member in the team gets is also accepted and agreed by each member in order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Secondly, a leader should ensure that the leader treats all the members in the team equally irrespective of the role they play. This would mean that a task wouldn’t’ get completed even if anyone member deviate from the task or stop contributing to it no matter how small or big the task is. Only when members feel valued and accepted without any discrimination, they would contribute to the smooth functioning, otherwise they would create issues. Thirdly, a leader should be able to foresee any issues the team might face or the team has at present. This would mean discussing with the team regarding the issues and challenges the team faces would help the leader keep the members of the team together in overcoming those issues. finally, a leader needs to ensure that the leader is approachable in order for the members to come to the leader at any time to discuss the progress and get individual counselling in order to improve themselves and contribute to the betterment of the team positively.
