Meeting my obligations towards my country is what citizenship means to me. Each way of being a decent citizen is to show reverence for our surroundings. Cleaning up our surroundings and not littering around the city is one way of showing our appreciation for our climate. If we see trash lying around the city we will sweep it up immediately and put it in the proper waste container as it shows how clean we like the place we live in. It also shows what good citizenship is to be respectful of our government. Not talking badly about our government and supporting our government in its decisions is one way to demonstrate that we live in a good community that respects our countries.

It helps protect their rights; to hold it accountable for any transgressions of rights, citizens must know what their government is up to. It can promote the interests of people; people must know which lawmakers endorse what policies to see their own interests, such as retirement benefits or government-considered healthcare.

They re-conceptualize debates about the digital divide by focusing on frequent use to include both the means and skills to participate online.

Digital Citizenship looks at three aspects of online society participation: economic opportunity, democratic participation and inclusion in prevailing forms of communication. use of the Internet at work increases wages, with the greatest benefit being given to less-educated and minority workers, and that Internet use is significantly linked to political participation, especially among young people.
