Leadership refers to the skills and ability that an individual or organization has that can make the individual to lead other individual, group or the organization.
The leadership model for powerful leader are: -
Transformational leadership is the leadership style where the leader give emphasis on bringing the change by identifying the need, create vision and execute the change by working closely with the subordinate. The leader focus on making the organization to be innovative and creative. Team-building and motivating employees are given more emphasis and encourage them to work collaboratively to accomplish change.
Charismatic leadership is the ability of the individual by which the behavior of others are influences via personal characteristics and persuasive communication. So a charismatic leader inspire the followers. Thus, charismatic leadership is an example of leader trait approach for studying leadership.
Ethical leader is the the leader who follows ethical belief and values and give emphasis on what is right and wrong. They lead by example and communicate the importance of ethical standards to its employees.
Laissez-Faire leadership - Laissez-faire management style also called delegative leadership is a leadership style where the group members are provided with least guidance by the leader and allow them to make decisions. The subordinates are provided with full freedom and leader provide minimal support to them to carry out their tasks at work. All the decisions and authority are given to the subordinates by the leader. So leader is not responsible for any strategic decisions or for managing the team.
Bureaucratic leader - There exist a hierarchy of power among highest management. The structure is of pyramid shape, where the top of the organization is the president or the leader who controls all departments. Few high ranking managers has the power that they exercise to control the organization. The higher management controls the operation of the company effectively. Very strict procedures and policies are followed by bureaucratic organization This type of organization has very strict monitoring and control system. The division of labor is in-flexible and are assigned with clearly defined tasks and duties. Rules and responsibilities are clearly stated and followed by everyone.
Democratic leader - democratic leadership style also called participative style because the leader encourage the staff to take part in decision making process. The more focus is given on job enhancement by giving responsibilities of decision-making and problem solving to the employees. The leader also focus on career development of staff and recognize them for good work. This type of leader also focus on providing job satisfaction to employees by providing them opportunities to grow and showcase their skills.
Autocratic leader - Top-down management style also called autocratic leadership is a leadership style where the decisions are made by the leader and does not involve subordinate in decision making process. So the decision taken is influenced by the opinion and personality of the leader.
