  • LEADERSHIP- is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.
  • It is not a trait or characteristics but rather a transactional event that occurs between the leader and the followers. SITUATIONAL APPROACH IN LEADERSHIP: Situational approach defines the basic premise of different situations that demands different types of leadership. This leadership style has been developed and studied by Kenneth Blanchard and Paul Hersey.   1. Telling/Directing: In this leadership style, the leader of the organization is the one who informs the decision and supervises the people who works in the organization. 2. Selling and coaching: In this, the decision still takes by the leader but input is requested from the employees before the decision is implemented to increase their confidence and self-esteem. 3. Participating and Supporting: In participating and supporting leadership, the leader provides information but those who work well should have necessary skills to achieve them. 4. Delegating to employees: in delegating to employees, the leader has no role but are responsible for choosing the tasks and directions. In this type of leadership, the employees understands their role and perform it with little supervision. PATH-GOAL THEORY: The path-goal model is a theory based on specifying a leader's style or behavior thats fits the employee and working environment to achieve goals. AIM: The main aim is to increase employee's motivation, empowerment, and satisfaction to become productive worker in the organization. DESCRIPTION OF PATH-GOAL THEORY: A.
