What improvements do you see in society and in the psychological profession regarding women and minorities? Are there sectors where opportunities are still limited, or have we made all the changes necessary in this 21st century? Why, or why not?
Scenario allied with the women and the minorities all over the world in the context of their personal, social and professional life is constructively changed upto a larger extent in developed and developing countries.
Numerous Government schemes/ assistances and the initiatives of the non profit organisations have been the foremost significant reasons behind this positive changes.
But in underdeveloped countries and also because of certain religious limitations on women, they are not fully emancipated.
There have been fierce opposition and protests by the women and minorities. They have been using social media for their rights sake. Many of them have filed cases in the courts but still they have to go miles away/ far.
Women and minorities have been doing good in the psychological profession. Open doors for education and availability of fine opportunities have proven to be a boon for them.
Still there are obstacles like microaggressions, discrimination, unethical practices that delay the progress of women and minorities. It will further take some more time to get done. Amendmends in law, appropriate awareness, whistle blowing are the best ways to accomplish it.
