Firstly ,I will be briefing you about safety plan and then tell you as to why you need it.

Safety plan refers to practical plan to remain safe or to protect oneself from an abusive or bad relationship from potentially harming the concerned person or to be safe while getting out of a relationship ,it helps you cope with varying emotions and how to talk about a harmful or abusive relationship or to report it .A good safety plan is vital and should fit your unique circumstances .

Now in answering as to why it is important ;

It is important to remember that your mind does not function the same way it does when it is calm and also considering the situation one must be prepared and put his/her best efforts to save oneself .When in a relationship you always know the status of your relationship and hence it will be visible that your is not going easy on you sometimes an intimate partner is someone who has access to all our information and know the whereabouts, in a relationship there can be various factors that can make your partner loose his /her calm and since the person is so known to you the person can be in high danger. sometimes with out a plan arguing or getting into a fight can lead to harmful events watching their every move and knowing your safety place, safety distance and confiding in your confidant always helps you safe yourself and your loved ones .Hence knowing a safety plan can help in tight situations.
