Ans- Disadvantages of Skype-

• Network Connection- Skype video calling is a network program. It's basic version is free in which average internet is required. But if you go with the premium one, you have the requirement of fast internet connection. The bandwidth amount needed in this program depends upon the call types which we make and which feature we use. In HD Video Calling and Group Conferencing, highest bandwidth is required.
• Security- Along with the popularity of skype, it is also a target for the attackers and the hackers. Developers of the skyoe encrypt the calls. But in the newer versions, it is more likely to get hacked if the security measures are not properly taken by the user.
• Children Risk- Online messaging has become a danger for the childrens. Like, Skype can be used to do the cyber bullying if parents are not checking the activities of the children. Parents should switch the childrens adjust settings in skype and monitor their work.
• Price- Although Skype is free, but there are so many other features for which you have to pay for. If You want to use the unlimited calls feature, you have to pay for the premium subscription.

Implications and Impact of Skype-

Skype has change the world. Skype allows people yo do the voice and video calls by just using internet. It came in 2003 founded by Janus Fris and Niklas Zennstrom. It's firstly name was skyper. Later its name was shortened to Skype. In the previous times,  Skype charges $2.95per month if some one wants to call from cell phones or landlines. The First Beta Version of Skype came quickly to its updated versions for Linux, Windows and the Sony Playstation.

Skype added the options of video conferencing in 2006 release on Windows and Macinstosh. Skype converts the voice signals into the form of data and transfer it to internet from their host computer and then receive back the audio from the receiving computer. In 2008, this feature released in Linux OS.

In 2005, Ebay acquired the Skype for around $2.6 bn dollars. Then after this, Microsoft acquire this at $8.5 bn dollars. Microsoft understood the opportunity and acquire at right time.

There is a feature named "Skype to go" that is only made for their premium customers. This features allows the people to do the international calls. The Skype Mobile came in the April of 2008. This was compatible with around 50 different type of phones.

In 2009, the Skype for Business was launched.  In the May of 2010, Skype 5.0 Beta and the Iphone App was released. All these clearly states how Skype has made a major impact on the comunication as the whole.

Another Benefit of Skype is that more than 80% of its sales are from outside of US which shows how great job company was doing at that time by connecting the peoples from all over the world.

Skype is not only the peoples for the peoples to use for. But it's the best. You can send messages, call landlines, do calls with all over the world. It changes over the period of time. Now it is not only the software. It is pre installed on almost every smartphones.
