the main and primary function of Geographic Information Systems is the visual representation of data.data residing inside the database is visually represented in the format of a map.
proximity analysis:
it is an analytical technique which is used to define relationship between a particular location and other locations.social and economic demographics are certain factors considered in this technique.it is used to determine distance between two points.find closest point which can be reached in minimal time
Buffering:
it is a technique used to analyse the sphere of influence of a particular point.buffering creates a zone around the given particular point.this buffering technique helps to create zone around a specified geographic feature which helps in further analysis that can be made using overlay method.
