WHAT IMPACT DOES THE DEBATE OF CREATIONISM AND EVOLUTION HAVE ON SOCIETY
Creationism suggests that the world was created by a divine power superior to human beings with a purpose. It also suggests that whatever happens on the earth is happening according to the creator’s wish. Almost all the religions back this idea. Evolutionary theories on the other hand rejects the idea that god created the world and instead, it suggests that the world and all it holds evolved on their own over a period of time. It also says that there is no such higher being as God and whatever religions project to prove the existence of God is only myths. The existence of God is not yet proven scientifically. This has created two groups of people theists who support the existence of God and atheists who support science and rejects the idea of God.
All the theists tried to prosecute people who didn’t want to believe in their religions which caused most of the wars and violence in the world. They followed certain rules that were mostly out of superstitions and started troubling others who do not belong to them. Although all the theists proposed love and care for humanity, when it comes to prove themselves, they got into violence by torturing people of other faiths thus sowing the seeds of intolerance.
Atheists on the other hand experimented things in real time and accepted only when there is a proof. This led to lots of scientific innovation which the theists believed against God. They constantly ignored religion and God from politics and government thus bringing in more tolerance and experimented everything that the theists proposed and proved that they were wrong. Religions, in the name of God tried to prevent atheists from furthering their research on many areas but governments supported the scientific advancement and facilitated and funded the growth of science. This made more people treat religions as only for rituals.
