What is a protocol? Present a brief discussion about Networking and Routing protocols giving emphasis to the IPv4 and IPv6 suite of protocols.

Solutions

Expert Solution

In simple words, the protocol means a set of rules.

As in networking, there are two parties sender and receiver and to synchronize between the sender and receiver there must be some set of rules to be defined that how will they communicate with each to follow proper communication with termination and initialization of connection.

Now to deliver the packet between source and destination there must be some address from where to where packets have to travel and deliver the packet and there the role comes of IPv4 address and IPv6 address to give unique address to send and receive packets from either sides.
