purpose: To familiarize yourself with the law library system and website.

Course Outcome:   You will be able to apply research rules and techniques using web based legal online research.

Program Outcome: You will demonstrate critical thinking skills to prioritize, anticipate and analyze problems, and then to evaluate and implement solutions.

Go to either the Pierce County Law Library or the King County Law Library website and look around then answer the following questions. (2 points each)

  • What kinds of information can you find?
  • Is the information all free?
  • Are there continuing legal education courses available (CLE's)? Are there any offered for paralegals?
  • Would this be a site you would go to for in-depth legal research? Why or why not?
  • Does the website offer research assistance? What fees do they charge for the service?
