Step 1 Picture yourself as a Senior Product Manager in your favorite industry. This could be high-tech, financial services, consumer products, electronics, automobiles, restaurants, food services, etc. Choose an industry with which you are familiar. Sit quietly and brainstorm with yourself about a possible new product idea. This does not have to be completely original. It could be as simple as a new flavor of ice cream, a new feature on a hair dryer or a new color iPod/iPad.

Step 2 Create a post describing your new product idea. Be as specific as possible and provide as much detail as you can so that other's reading your post can understand your idea in sufficient detail so as to comment on it. Be sure to state who the product idea is targeted to, that is, who you expect to buy it. How will the new product compare and compete with similar, currently available products? How can labeling and package design help? Consider the labeling for the new product idea. What restrictions and legal requirements have to be fulfilled? Consider the packaging for the new product ideas. If applicable, what sizes will be available? How will the packaging help the product to stand out? How will the packaging help prevent or deter theft? Feel free to attach images to your post, or include links to similar products that might have similar characteristics to the new one you are developing.

Step 1:

In this period of an extremely widespread pandemic called COVID -19, I would surely love to develop a product based on this matter. When the entire world is concerned about the Corona virus and its precautions, only a few of the whole world thinks about those people who are infected and admitted to the hospital. They have no contact with their loved ones as most of the time, they would be on the bed and are restricted from using electronic devices(especially in severe cases). At this time, both the mindsets of the family and the infected person is really horrible to think as the family cant know what's happening with the infected person and there's no idea where to enquire and whom to enquire and moreover, there would be numerous patients admitted and hence it's impossible to know the well being of just one person.

The products in my mind are two small wrist watches (Named as "With U" ) where they are having small rounded buttons of 10 smileys of different expressions (one watch for the patient and another for his/her loved one) where the patient and his loved one can share the smileys they feel, at the moment according to their current emotion. This also ensures a secure feeling to the patient along with a relief feeling to the loved one. The working of the product would be the same as the smartwatch relying on the tiny touch modules and I need to get more details regarding the technology side with the specialists.

Step 2:

"Forget the pain of separation during the time of Corona...!! Introducing the new "With U" where you can send all your emotions to your loved one within a tap....No more insecrities..no more tension of being lonely....Your loved one can sense your emotion the moment you sent a smiley from your watch to theirs.....

Your smile at the time of the pain...is our only aim....!!!!

More details about "With U" :

  • Target Market: Corona patients, people in quarantine, long-distance relationship couples
  • Similar product: Bond Touch watch where the only feature is just a touching sensation without any message specially designed to lovers. But the "With U" makes use of 10 smileys like- angry, happy, sad, fearful, sleepy, surprise, romantic, excitement and crying.
  • Labeling and packaging- The labeling mainly consists of the technology used in it along with the emotions of each smiley while the packaging consists of a well-secured box with safe outlines to protect the device. And the wristwatches are available in 7 different colors namely light red, light blue, light yellow, light purple, light orange, light brown and light green.
  • Legal Requirement: There would be some restrictions on the severely ill people who can't use this facility and hence there would be some sanction from the doctors before using this product.
  • Packaging: The outer packaging would be totally red in color that symbolizes love which would be painted with some flowers and smileys that represent emotions. The unique smiley patterns on the red color bring out the uniqueness of this product apart from others. Moreover, the package would be sealed many times using quality material which helps to reduce theft.

The product in my mind looks similar to:

Hence the answer.
