History-Burberry company

Burberry was found in 1856 by Thomas Burberry by a small store in Hampshire, England. In 1879, Burberry invented gabardine, a waterproof breathable fabric that was later patented by the company in 1888. Gradually, the fabric gained popularity in England.

In 1901, Burberry got a logo of a knight on a horse, and some Latin word 'Prorsum' was written on it which means 'forward'. They later got it registered in 1902.

In later years, the company opened many stores in different parts of England and their product got popular day by day. Many Renowned personalities of that time could be seen wearing Burberry's fabrics.

And the time of the first world war, Burberry introduced 'trench coats" which were worn by the military at the time of war. After the war, it got popular in the civilians also.

In 1990 Burberry was appointed as the official tailor for the HM King Goerge V.

In the 1940s during the Second World war, Burberry supply and trench coats to the military and other officials. It continued to supply for other natives in the meantime.

In 1964, the company supplied the outwears to the women's team of England for Tokyo Olympics.

In 1999, the company change its name from barberries to Burberry. By the time of the 2000s, it became a luxury brand from London. It was listed in the London stock exchange in 2002. By the time of 2004, it started to deal with the United States also through the website.

In 2008, it formed a joint venture namely Burberry middle East, whose headquarter was in Dubai. In 2011, they launched their official website burberry.com which was available for 44 countries of the world.

From then it is just prospering day by day.
